" [ 7 May 2000 ] During the brutal and ongoing Sierra Leone Civil War, the conflict has rapidly escalated as socialist rebels of the "Revolutionary United Front" (RUF) have violently assaulted southwards, leaving devastation and atrocities in their wake. Despite several previous U.N-backed ceasefires, the defenses of the "Sierra Leone Armed Forces" (SLA) are crumbling, prompting the British government to intervene and provide aid. After dispatching an "Operational Reconnaissance and Liaison Team" (ORLT) to prepare for the evacuation of foreign citizens, the unit was ambushed when patrolling in search of missing united nation officials. Whilst most members of the ORLT were able to fight their way back to their central operation at the coastal town of Bakaho, some were unable to withdraw and subsequently captured - including the leader of the unit Major Andy Harrison.
