Operation Aurora (2006)
The rise of anti-monarchy movement across the Kingom of Sahrani, and a civil war in the provice of Yulakia, has the potential to end the royal rule. The King deployed his most trusted regiment, the Royal Fusiliers, to ensure, that the monarcy won't fall and that peace is maintained across the Kingdom for decades to come.
Situation
The Kingdom of Sahrani is an island Kingdom with a long and rich history. Before WW2, the Kingdom spanned across 4 fairly large islands in the Atlantic ocean, the main island of Sehreno and the provinces of Lingor, Fapovo and Yulakia. During WW2, the Islands were occupied by the Axis powers and played a vital role in the early stages of the war, but were deemed rather insignificant once the Allies controlled the Atlantic ocean, so they weren’t liberated until early 1945. After WW2, north Sahrani decleared independence from the Kingdom and only after a long and brutal civil war in the 1970s, the island had once more united under the same flag, the Kingdom of Sahrani.
When in mid 2002 the king announced that he will formally apply to NATO, due to the ongoing global war on terror, the anti-monarchy movement began to steadily grow under a man simply known as “Ramirez'', who is believed to be a formal high ranking officer of the royal guard. This also started unrests in Sehreno and caused a small civil war in Yulakia, resulting in a break-away republic of Eastern Yulakia to be formed who quickly allied themselves with the eastern powers. The king stationed Royal Fusilies to protect the integrity of Western Yulakia and to twart any aditional uprisings, guard the borders and to help train the YDA forces, but the troops are not seen as peacekeepers by the population but as an show of force by the king. With Ramirezes support only growing in the past years, now not a week goes by without major shipments arriving to Eastern Yulakia as well as Rahmadi and many belive, that a major conflict is on the horizon that could end the royal rule.
