The Tanoan Archipelago has returned to a state of turmoil, with nearly a decade of riots and the President's assassination. This sparked a rapid fall of the Tanoan Republic, with armed fights between Gendarmerie and armed groups across the archipelago. During this chaos, the neighbouring Soladi Federation has deployed forces into the area and has claimed control of the territory, claiming a vote organised by the Tanoan Senate for joining the Federation. Multiple groups still loyal to the Tanoan Republic, now organised as the Tanoan Separatists are fighting back against Soladi Forces, but with more than 6 months since their arrival, much of the Archipelago is under Soladi control and the Separatists are becoming desperate.
 

Tanoan Republic's Vice-President André Galere, now leader of the Separatist movement, has negotiated with the US government for the protection of the Tanoan Republic in exchange for base-rights and a permanent presence of US forces. This resulted in OPERATION GRAPESHOT, where the US Marine Corps 12th Marine Expeditionary Unit was deployed to quickly establish a US presence in the archipelago. With the aim to strongarm the Soladi Forces into a fight they can't win and bring the Federation into negotiations. The operation, although executed successfully, has finished in failure, as the Soladi Federation has been pushed too far and has now entered into an agreement with China, resulting in the deployment of Chinese CSAT Forces in Tanoa and an increase in the scale of firefights in the region.
 

With the US supporting the Tanoan Republic and China the Soladi Federation, US and Chinese forces are often involved in skirmishes across Tanoa. With both sides looking to avoid a costly war that may escalate, reports from both sides are downplaying the situation and only stating they are supporting the Tanoan or Soladi governments in stabilizing the situation in the region.

Military and Police force of the previous Tanoan Republic, a large part of the force has aligned itself with the Soladi government, but some are still loyal to the Democratic government.
