Situation
Background
In late 1983 the USSR invaded Western Europe. Despite initial success, they soon reached a stalemate in the Rosche region of West Germany. In an attempt to break this stalemate, they advanced through Scandinavia with the hope of flanking the NATO forces in West Germany.
A Joint UK/US Task Force (UNITAF) has been deployed to the Vidda region of Norway to hold back the Soviet advance while the Local population is evacuated. This is the last place the USSR can be stalled before they reach Oslo. The main goal of UNITAF is to prevent these forces from reaching Oslo then being able to link up and reinforce enemy forces currently held up in northern Denmark.
UNITAF is outmanned and outgunned so will need to rely on a mixture of conventional and non conventional tactics to achieve limited success. It is vital that the airfield in the south remains open so that evacuations can be achieved.

Friendly Forces
While they will be undertaking different missions, the US and UK forces are expected to provide support to each other when needed.

Enemy Forces
The 3rd "Red Banner" Combined Arms Army (formally known as the 3rd Shock Army) is well trained and well equipped. They are expected to be under pressure from the Kremlin to dispatch UNITAF quickly and move to support the forces operating in West Germany. Intel from Afghanistan has shown that the Soviets don’t react well to hit and run tactics.
