Operation Parabole (2017)
Multiple terror attacks have hit cities across Europe. As part of a multinational effort to bring those responsible to justice, German KSK deploys to dismantle the ring of weapon smugglers supplying the terror group.
Operation Background
A multinational manhunt is underway for the perpetrators of attacks against European cities. Not much is known of the group claiming responsibility, they call themselves “Vera Libertas” “True Freedom” in Latin. The terrorists used small amounts of chemical weapons and multiple gunmen to carry out their attacks. Thorough forensic examination of the evidence left behind has returned two things:
- The chemical weapons used matched those destroyed by the SAS in Fallujah, though they appear to have been produced before the factories were destroyed.
- The munitions used in the attack were traced to a small Island nation called Cape Rassa, a known hotbed for smugglers and gun runners.
German KSK are deployed to the Islands to dismantle the ring of smugglers and recover intelligence on the mysterious terror cell.
Region Politics
Cape Rassa is a nation on the slow road to recovery. Years of corruption and mismanagement saw their economy completely collapse in 2006. In the following years, multiple militias sprung up to take control of the power vacuum that had developed. It is these years of turmoil where smuggling rings embedded themselves with the militias, supplying weapons in exchange for using their Islands to move contraband between Europe and the Americas.
In recent years, the newly reformed government has begun to crack down on the organised militias but progress is slow and bloody.
Friendly Forces
The newly formed Government of Cape Rassa has welcomed German presence and assistance. The Cape Rassa Army (CRA), forces loyal to the new Government will not accompany us on deployments but are fully cooperating by sharing Intel and allowing us to operate from their military installations
They provided all the Intelligence they have on the PACR and the CRRM.
Enemy Forces
The enemy force consists of two militias vying for control of the country following the economic collapse of 2006. The People’s Army of Cape Rassa (PACR) is the larger and more heavily armed of the two groups. They mostly consist of ex-military who deserted when the old Government could not pay them any longer. The PACR hold several old military bases and cities across the Islands and frequently clash with the CRA. The Cape Rassa Reformation Movement (CRRM) is a smaller and less trained force overall, they are reported to use guerilla tactics. They are hostile to both the PACR and the CRA.
Both enemy forces are known to move contraband for funding. Either could be sheltering those responsible for supplying the terror attacks.
Tasking
Find information on the Terror Cell.
- Who are they?
- Where are they hiding?
- What is their goal?
- Where will they attack next?
Dismantle the network of smugglers moving contraband through Cape Rassa and supplying terror groups with weaponry.
Resupply
Gasparilla Airbase will be our main base of operations for the duration of the deployment, all resupply will be flown in.
ROE
The civilian population generally do not carry firearms as they look to either the militias or the CRA for protection. However, the CRA has informed us that civilians have been known to recover weapons from militia fighters and use them on CRA soldiers.
