Operation Polaris (2039)

The med has suffered a pandemic, crippling the economy, IDAP quickly overrun by the need for aid. CSAT seeing an opportunity claim the islands. With no real choice what was left of the government accepted the help. The pandemic is now over but CSAT has yet to leave and shows no inclination to do so. NATO have decided to strike back and free the islands of occupation.

Background

Altis and the surrounding islands have suffered from a pandemic in the last 3 years that has crippled the economy leaving the population poor and starving. IDAP were the first on scene and were quickly overrun by the sheer quantity of people in need of aid. After a short time CSAT saw an opportunity to claim the islands and offered to help. With no real choice what was left of the government accepted the help and CSAT moved in. The pandemic is now over but CSAT has yet to leave and shows no inclination to do so. The international community debates heavily while the people of Altis and the surrounding islands are forced to live under CSATs rule.

The NATO nations have decided to strike back and free the islands of occupation and have deployed a Task force to the outer islands with the intention of securing each one before moving in on Altis itself.

In reaction to the occupation, a rebel faction calling itself FIA has formed, acting as a guerilla faction to attack CSAT and any other faction trying to oppress the people. IDAP, determined to help the people, has turned to the FIA to provide them security and to sneak them into where they are needed most. IDAP funding the FIA does not look good to the international community and NATO would like to find a way to help IDAP without further growing the rebel faction.

Enemy Forces

The occupying CSAT forces are well entrenched and well equipped. Initial Intel on the island of Malden shows the forces are made up of infantry companies, Helicopters and Tanks. Further information on the center islands indicate that CSAT had deployed its full force to the island chain.
