Wind Indicator
The in-game wind display can be activated with the default key bind: Shift + K. The indicator will appear in the top left of the screen and display information for both wind direction and wind speed. In a similar fashion to a soldier experiencing wind without any devices to precisely measure velocity and bearing - this indicator does not provide precise values or directions, only estimations. With an understanding of the systems and methods in use to display these estimates, information precise enough for marksmanship may be gathered for use.
Direction Values
At first glance, the wind indicator appears to display the blow of the wind very generally, using an arrow to depict the direction along with dot indicators to denote speed. The direction of the arrow, however, does not appear to track very precisely to the heading of the wind - only updating the indicator arrow direction twice for any cardinal direction, allowing as much as 30° of error in direction determination.
Looking towards a more precise answer for long range marksmanship, we can find the exact values for wind direction by understanding the angle values at which the wind direction indicator changes. These values at which the arrow changes directions can be used to either determine an exact wind bearing, for use with calculations, or to neatly divide the wind into 12 clock sectors, for use with the in game range card.
Precise values attached to the wind indicator are diagramed below:
