Commander's Intent

Primary Objective: Our Primary objective is the capture and relief of the Al Bostha refugee camp to the west of Basra city center. We will complete this task through the progressive assault of Iraqi and insurgent held strongholds obstructing our route. Secondary Objective: Our secondary objective is the de-mining of bridges in the area which are obstructing both civilian and military vehicles. Additionally, we are to destroy any discovered enemy supplies or assets in the region.

Tasks and Sequencing

PHASE-0: Our platoon will begin our mission from FOB Corunna where we will gear-up and brief before moving to AP-1 and AP-2 respectively, in anticipation of an enemy attack on PL-0. Once the enemy attack is successfully repelled, we will recieve transport from LIMA 4 through PL-0 and begin Phase 1. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ PHASE-1: LIMA 4 will transport KNIGHT elements to their respective dismount points before they follow their routes through OBJ Glasgow at the discretion of their leaders. KNIGHT 1 is tasked on clearing the eastern side of the objective and KNIGHT 2 on the west. HAMMER elements are to support the attack on OBJ Glasgow before proceeding to OBJ Edinburgh to destroy enemy installations and armor. If required, resupply will be conducted by LIMA 4 at RV-ALPHA. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ PHASE-2: We will stage short of PL-1 and await clearance from KNIGHT 9 before each squad assaults their respective objectives: Newcastle, Carlisle and Middlesbrough. Squads are to ensure marked bridges are cleared from potential anti-tank mines and blockades. Hammer elements are to conduct supporting fire and assault as required as ground elements advance. LIMA 4 is to conduct resupply at RV-Bravo and RV-Charlie as required. The platoon will hold before PL-2. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ PHASE-3: KNIGHT 1 is to assault OBJ Leeds from the north-east and provide base of fire as required, whilst KNIGHT 2 ensure that BRIDGE 3 is secured and cleared before flanking and assaulting the same objective. Hammer elements are to conduct supporting fire and assault as required as ground elements advance. LIMA 4 is to conduct resupply at RV-Delta as required. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ PHASE-4: Assault on obj Manchester and OBJ Liverpool will be decided in-field dependent on situation present. Whilst one squad assault through the river and clear bridge 4, 5 and 6, the other will assault OBJ Manchester before both squads assault OBJ Liverpool from the north and south. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________
