IN RESPONSE TO OUR RECENT OPERATIONS RAIDING ENEMY TRAINING CAMPS AND DISPOSING OF ENEMY WEAPONRY, THE LOCAL TERRORIST INSURGENCY HAS DECIDED TO UP THEIR TACTICS AND ARE WANTING TO MAKE A STATEMENT. THEY HAVE CAPTURED A LOCAL MOSQUE IMAM THAT HAS BEEN KNOWN TO HELP OUR EFFORTS WITH GIVING UP ANY KNOWN INTEL REGARDING THE INSURGENTS MOVEMENT THROUGHOUT THE SURROUNDING TOWNS/CITIES. ISR SUGGESTS THE USAGE OF BOMBS AT THE MOSQUE SITE.

Additional friendly forces are moving to assist from the southern and south-eastern patrol FOBs. These forces will be dealing with enemy garrisons between their location and the mosque objective itself.

Lightly armed Insurgent forces spread around the main OBJ (Mosque) with armed technicals assisting them. Confirmed utilization of heavy emplacements and IEDs.

Secure the Bastam Mosque and defuse any explosive ordinances.

After having repelled the enemy from Bastam and defused any explosive ordinances in the Mosque, we will return to the Airbase for ENDEX. Failure is not an option.

The purpose of this mission to save a friendly Imam from the enemy and defuse any explosive ordinances that they have placed in the mosque. We will approach from the north, taking out two garrisons on the way. By ENDEX, the area will be secure, the bomb will be defused and the Imam will be safe.

For instance, marker A2 - 3 indicates that it is a waypoint for Archer 1-2, and reaching this waypoint will be the third step in the overall plan. First Garrison The entire element will move to the dismount marker SE of Rasman. Archer 1-2 will set up on the ridge, providing overwatch for Archer 1-1 as they move in defilade towards a small hamlet SE of the first garrison and secure it. As soon as it is secure, and the overwatch location is no longer effective, Archer 1-2 will move further up to prevent QRF whilst Archer 1-1 enters the garrison and clears it for OPFOR. Archer 1-2 will enter and assist only if necessary - priority for Archer 1-2 will then be the southern part of the town. Second Garrison The general plan for the second garrison is similar to the first. Archer 1-2 sets up on the ridge to provide overwatch and cover whilst Archer 1-1 moves in and clears. Bastam Bastam is our main target, and we expect it to be heavily fortified, so approach to this town needs to be a bit more cautious. Archer 1-2 will move up to and clear a small bunker NE of the town, and use this location initially for their overwatch position. Archer 1-1 will subsequently move in and secure the NE section of Bastam, before they move around the mosque in a counter-clockwise fashion clearing the structures as they go. Archer 1-2 will then prioritise breaching the mosque - they will move through the NE section towards the mosque and breach when possible. Archer 1-1 will, if required, enter the mosque from the West. Whether this is initially prioritised over other sectors depend on the performance and assessment of Archer 1-2. As the mosque is secured, our EOD specialist will move in and defuse any explosive devices in and around the mosque. Area Security After Bastam and the mosque is secured, we will move up to the hillside SE of town where we should have good eyes on both MSRs going into Bastam from remaining garrisons.

We will have no dedicated LOGPAK engineers available tonight. Vehicle crew should ensure that they take with them enough ammunition to support the infantry with supplies.

IMPORTANT NOTE Under no circumstance should we use any explosive weaponry in and around Bastam Mosque.
