Situation
During a period of increased VC logistical activity in the lower river basin, MACV-SOG squad DAGGER has been ordered to infiltrate the Phai island (Đảo Phái) under cover of darkness. Recent SIGINT and agent reporting confirm that Đảo Trai, a riverside town on the island, is functioning as a principal transit and supply hub for the PLAF, with materiel and personnel flowing through the area at unprecedented levels. Enemy forces are suspected to be using the island as a forward staging ground for operations against friendly units positioned downriver. DAGGER is inserted to verify the scale of VC presence and supply activity, gather photographic and documentary evidence, and, if conditions permit, sabotage enemy assets to disrupt further operations. The mission is strictly clandestine; compromise will force an immediate and contested withdrawal.
