Situation

Background Information

>>LOW CONTACT - PEACEKEEPING MISSION. PLEASE DO NOT EXPECT MUCH, OR ANY ENGAGEMENTS, BUT LOTS OF RP<< In a move to bolster security and stability on the strategic island of Malden, NATO has announced the Altis Armed Forces (AAF) reinstitution. The AAF, which had been previously disbanded, will be tasked with policing, peacekeeping, and dealing with insurgent threats posed by the Freedom and Independence Army (FIA). The decision to reinstate the AAF comes as NATO shifts its focus to the frontlines of its ongoing conflict with the CSAT. With NATO forces heavily engaged in combat against CSAT, the need for a local force to maintain order on Malden has become increasingly apparent. The FIA, a militant group seeking independence for Malden, Altis and Stratis, has expressed strong opposition to the reinstatement of the AAF, accusing the organization of being mere puppets of NATO. The FIA contends that the AAF will serve as an instrument of NATO's oppression and will not hesitate to suppress a country's economy.

Friendly Forces

Altis Armed Forces (AAF) is our playable faction.

Supporting Assets

NATO Forces, mainly US Armed Forces present in the area, however not directly engaging within peacekeeping tasks.

Enemy Forces

Freedom and Independence Army (FIA) are present in the AO. Although not directly hostile, their narration is far for friendly towards our cause. Not a significant threat for their lack of military power, however very experienced with guerilla tactics.

Mission

Tasking

BISHOP 1 is the first Platoon, since the reinstitution of the AAF, to partake in peacekeeping mission in Altis. After preparations at Camp Sappho, ALL CALLSIGNS are to attend a ceremony at U.S.A.F. Larche, hosted by our NATO friends. Then the platoon is to perform combat patrol in Saint-Louis and Larche; and return to Camp Sappho for ENDEX.

End-state

BISHOP 1 attended the ceremony and gathered intel, and established relations in Saint-Louis and Larche.

Execution

Commander's Intent

This mission's intent is to survey the local population's interest in and opinion of the reformed AAF. We want to build favour for the AAF through excellent conduct, thereby bolstering internal stability.

Tasks and Sequencing

PHASE 0 BISHOP will prepare to depart from Camp Sappho mounted in light personal vehicles, one per team. PHASE 1 Initiating the deployment, we attend the ceremony and speech at the airfield. Our concerns are security and conduct. We do not expect hostile actions. Regardless, our stance must be aware for signs of FIA activity. PHASE 2 Survey Saint Louis. Continue the aware stance. PHASE 2 Survey Larche. FIA activity is reported in this district. During any commitment or activity, we must ensure adequate mutual security such that the group conducting it is defended or overwatched by another. At the smallest scale, a buddy team might interview a citizen while the other buddy team stands watch. Throughout all phases, weapon discipline is paramount. No civilian will be flagged without due cause.
