With 2 section on their recent presence patrol successfully gaining information about a potential Taliban cell leader in the area, military intelligence has tracked movement of a male matching the description and identified 3 possible compounds where the likelihood of the Taliban command could be.

Positive with the success of the mission, the compounds will be attacked by the elements of the 2nd Battalion, The Rifles.

The purpose of the mission is to conduct a night raid on a Taliban compound south of Baba Rahim in order to capture/kill the local Taliban commander. Should the Taliban commander be captured alive we will extract him to COP Winchester where he will be handed over to the intelligence services.

PHASE 0 Form up in vics facing NE on the road TEMPEST 1-1 and the EOD will be located in the front vic, TEMPEST 1 &TEMPEST 1-2 will be located in the rear vic. PHASE 1 Move along the roads that were cleared in the previous patrol while trying to draw as little attention to ourselves, the aim is for the civilian population and any Taliban spotters to think we are on a routine night patrol. PHASE 2 The convoy will hold outside of Baba Rahim in order to assess the level of civilian activity within the town, we are expecting the town to be quiet with no civilian activity on the street. This town is occupied by the local population however they are friendly towards us. No contact/interactions are expected in the town as all civilians should be asleep. In the event that there is street-level activity, the convoy will deviate along the secondary route to avoid travelling through the town and drawing unnecessary attention to ourselves. PHASE 3 TEMPEST 1 Will enter the confirmed abandoned compound and dismount. TEMPEST 1-1's vehicle will move into position at BOF Angel to provide overwatch to our southeastern ark while TEMPEST 1-2's vehicle moves into position at BoF Demon to provide overwatch to our south-west. While the vehicles move to their respective BoF's the squad will move to the eastern side of the compound to get eyes on the target compound. PHASE 4 TEMPEST 1 Will move into the Taliban compound, TEMPEST 1-1 with the EOD will clear through sector 1b capturing/eliminating any Taliban or civilians (capture only) found on target. Once 1b is clear TEMPEST 1-1 will set a BoF to provide overwatch to TEMPEST 1-2 and the EOD while they clear sector 1a similarly capturing/eliminating any Taliban or civilians (capture only) found on target. Once the compound has been cleared and the HVT has been captured/eliminated TEMPEST 1 will move to FRV Wizard to regroup with the vehicles and travel back along the same route to COP Winchester for ENDEX. In the event we come under contact while on route to the compound, we are to push through and proceed directly to the compound. In the event that we take contact after clearing the target compound TEMPEST 1 will attempt to eliminate the threat while TEMPEST 1-1's and TEMPEST 1-2's vehicles move to the rear of the compound to allow the infantry to mount up and quickly extract. In the event we encounter a sizable force we have Mortar support, Apache support, MERT and QRF on standby in surrounding British and American bases.
