Situation

Background Information

Earlier this morning, a friendly AH-64 Apache was shot down. We have only a rough grid reference for the crash site, its exact location is still unclear. Al Qaeda fighters are already moving into the area and tightening their grip on the sector. The wreckage contains advanced systems and sensitive technology that cannot be allowed to fall into enemy hands. Expected Level of Combat: ☆☆☆ Expected Level of RP: ☆ Expected Difficulty: ☆☆☆ Three-star rating: ☆ Little to none expected ☆☆ Decent amount expected ☆☆☆ Heavy emphasis / main focus of Operation Please note: There are brief moments when copyrighted songs are used.

Friendly Forces

1x BAF SQUAD

US Personal holding the front line

Supporting Assets

U.S. forces are positioned on the front line and ready to assist up to the forward edge of the battle area. 2 × AH-64 Apache attack helicopters are on standby for close air support and reconnaissance if the AO is confirmed clear of enemy AA.

Enemy Forces

Intelligence indicates a significant enemy presence in the vicinity of the suspected crash site. Al Qaeda fighters are actively tightening their control of the sector and may deploy technicals and other light vehicles to secure the area. Expect well-armed insurgents capable of rapid manoeuvre and ambush tactics.

Mission

Tasking

Locate the downed AH-64 Apache and rescue any surviving pilots. Destroy the wreckage.

End-state

AH-64 Apache destroyed and pilots rescued

Execution

Commander's Intent

Intent is to rescue the crew of the helicopter as well as deny the enemy from getting anything from the Apache

Tasks and Sequencing

PHASE 0 ALL CALLSIGNS will prepare combat load and get ready for brief. Note: Combat Engineers are to bring demolition blocks to blow up the apache and any stashes we find. PHASE 1 ALL CALLSIGNS will perform final checks and step off along Route Green to a US strongpoint and get briefed of the situation of the frontline. PHASE 2 Upon receiving intel BLACK squad will advance into the suspected crash-site area and start the search. If there is a smoke column, thats the target, if not BLACK will search the area from north to south along the roads. When the apache has been located, it will be rigged to blow. If the crew is still there we will treat them and RTB, if they're not, we will look for any clues for their current whereabouts and move to rescue them.

Administration/Logistics

Resupply

ALL CALLSIGNS will cross the LD fully loaded according to the units SOP. These supplies will come from the staging area. This basic load is expected to sustain the team throughout the mission, without support.

Medical support will be conducted in field (PAK in Field)

Close Air Support

Apaches will be available for close air support once AA in the area has been disabled.
