Invasion of Iraq. 4th Infantry division has been sent in behind the United States Marine Corps to sustain the presence. All USMC forces have pulled out of the area of operations and left insurgents to retake captured land. HVT by the name of Blind Fred needs to be found in his compound and eliminated. Thunder 4 operates an AC-130U All Thunder 4 slots are locked. Only those who have attended a AC-130U Familiarization FTX may slot. Please reach out to FL.

The friendly unit is a small US Army rifle squad with an AC-130U.

Insurgent cells are operating within the AO and control majority of the nearby villages.

Insurgents have forced out all civilians who are unwilling to join arms. All hostiles will be easily noticeable.

Direct Tasking Locate Blind Fred and EXTRACT dead or alive. 1-Up Intent Conduct a deliberate raid against Objective OGRE to locate, capture, or neutralize the high-value target (HVT) known as "Blind Fred". Exploit any intelligence recovered from the objective and withdraw the force before enemy reaction forces can effectively respond. 2-Up Intent Conduct offensive operations within the area of operations to degrade enemy command and control capabilities, disrupt their ability to coordinate attacks, and remove key enemy leadership. Maintain pressure on enemy forces to enable continued coalition freedom of maneuver and future operations.

Conduct a covert infiltration to Objective OGRE, execute a precision raid to capture or neutralise "Blind Fred", exploit intelligence recovered from the objective, and conduct an organised withdrawal to the HLS extraction point

Note: Brigade Reconnaissance has conducted a route reconnaissance of the designated infiltration corridor from the DZ to the objective and has confirmed it is suitable for movement. The route has been assessed as clear of mines, obstacles, and other hazards that would prevent safe passage. All alternative routes through the surrounding mountainous terrain are assessed as impassable due to steep gradients, unstable ground, and the presence of uncleared minefields. During the Soviet invasion in the 1980s, extensive minefields were laid throughout the mountainous region to deny movement and control key routes. These minefields were never fully cleared and remain an ongoing hazard. The surrounding terrain has not been cleared or reconnoitred and is not to be used unless required to avoid unwinnable enemy contact or directed by command. Phase 1: Infil KNIGHT 1 will mount the C130 piloted by THUNDERBIRD 4 and perform a HALO jump above DZ EAGLE. Brigade reconnaissance has cleared and marked the DZ with IR chemlights. Upon landing successfully, KNIGHT 1 will regroup at RV1. Once regrouped, KNIGHT 1 will proceed though RV2, RV3, RV4 and regroup at the FRV. Care should be taken to follow the route due to the mine hazard. KNIGHT 1 will then proceed to BoF UNICORN to get eyes on the objective and gather observations. THUNDERBIRD 4 will return to base and mount their AC-130U platform before returning to the AO to provide aerial reconnaissance in the stealth phases. Phase 2: Isolation THUNDERBIRD 4 will conduct a demonstration on any enemy out with OBJ OGRE to discourage reinforcements then will act as a blocking force to the West of OBJ OGRE preventing any reinforcements coming from the Garmarud direction. THUNDERBIRD 4 will also monitor any reinforcements incoming from Garmsar and will take action if able. Phase 3: Setting Conditions KNIGHT 1-2 will initially remain at BOF UNICORN and provide Base of Fire. KNIGHT 1-1 will move to the objective and enter Sector Alpha 1. Phase 4: The Attack KNIGHT 1-1 will clear sector Alpha 1. As dictated by the tactical situation KNIGHT 1-2 Will move to OBJ OGRE and clear through sector Bravo 1 before setting up at BOF Fairy to act as a blocking force. Phase 5: Exfil Once the HVT has been captured or killed, KNIGHT 1 will go firm at OBJ OGRE and prepare a HLS.

Due to the lack of planned resupply during the operation, all elements are to be prepared to operate independently for the duration of the mission. Ammunition, medical supplies, and specialist equipment are to be distributed prior to insertion to maximise operational endurance. KNIGHT 1 LO: Will carry additional AT rockets to maintain MAT capability throughout the operation. KNIGHT 1 : Will carry additional medical supplies to support casualty management during extended operations. Team Leaders: Will utilise available carrying capacity for STANAG ammunition exclusively to sustain small arms capability. The Ammo Bearer will act as a flexible sustainment asset, prioritising STANAG ammunition while utilising remaining capacity for AR ammunition, specialist equipment, and other mission-critical supplies as required. An emergency ammunition resupply package will be prepared for loading onto THUNDERBIRD 4 prior to mission commencement. This resupply is not to be used during normal operations and will only be accessed in the event of an emergency where the force cannot continue without additional ammunition or equipment. All commanders are responsible for assigning sustainment tasks prior to insertion and ensuring personnel understand their equipment responsibilities.
