Execution

Commander's Intent

The purpose of this mission, is to act as the "on-call" unit for friendly forces clearing the road to the town of Obupala and conducting humanitarian operations in the town. If called upon to relieve CHARLIE platoon, FOXTROT 9 will conduct 3 objectives: 1. To clear the road to OBJ GOLD of XORD. 2. To clear the surroundings of the road to OBJ GOLD of Al Qaeda (AQ) presence 3. To secure OBJ GOLD from any Al Qaeda presence

Tasks and Sequencing

FOXTROT 1 If called upon FOXTROT 9 must be ready to move to take over from CHARLIE and support as needed. FOXTROT consists of 2 x motorised infantry squads, each owning a Coyote and Land Rover. FOXTROT also has embedded EOD specialists who will operate with FOXTROT 8 to provide XORD detection and disposal throughout. PHASE 1 FOXTROT will mount up, convoy order: FOXTROT 1 FOXTROT 9 FOXTROT 2 and move to CHARLIE or as otherwise specified, then conduct an infantry-pace move down the road. FOXTROT 9 suggests that FOXTROT 1-0 & 2-0 rotate drivers/gunners as needed as infantry will most likely be dismounted and moving in protection of the vehicles. FOXTROT will deal with any XORD or AQ threat as needed including breaking off to deal with any camps or spotters identified. PHASE 2 Upon entry to OBJ GOLD, FOXTROT 9 will patrol WEST to EAST through the town, with FOXTROT 1 on the North and FOXTROT 2 on the SOUTH. IT IS IMPERITIVE THAT CIVILIANS ARE SUPPORTED, OFFERED RATIONS, AND OTHERWISE TREATED AS FRIENDLY. FOXTROT will identify potential AQ affiliated civilians, locations, or other points/persons of interest and ensure that OBJ GOLD is secure. ENDEX upon confirmed security of OBJ GOLD. ACTIONS ON - XORD found on road to OBJ GOLD -- Platoon halt, ARD, call for EOD if not already on site - Contact on road to OBJ gold -- Protect vehicles and EODs in ARD - Camps or guerilla staging spotted -- 1 x Squad to dismount and move to engage, 1 x Squad to secure convoy - Large AQ presence of OBJ GOLD -- Secure OBJ GOLD by eliminating threat - Situation require EVAC from OBJ GOLD -- FOXTROT 9 to call IDAP for civilian support. FOXTROT to protect civilian extraction, and retire
