Ranks

How promotion works Promoted by hand, by rules, or both, and every rank's ways.

Ranks: 31
By their rules: 0
By hand only: 31

Manual

Promoted by hand

The default for every rank. The promotions office promotes a member when they judge them ready. No rule runs.

Automatic

Promoted by its rules

Meet every line of one of the rank's ways and the promotion happens overnight. Nobody promotes it by hand.

Both

By its rules, or by hand

The rules run, and the promotions office can still promote someone early. A way can also just flag the member for the office to approve.

One rank at a time, from the rank below. Never more than one step, and never down.
Checked every night. A member who meets a way is promoted, or waits on the Approvals page.
Time is counted as the promotions office always has: active months in UNITAF (ATIU) and in your rank (ATIG).
