THIS IS A REAR OPERATIONS FOCUSED MISSION Botswana has suddenly erupted in a civil war, with the government being attacked by a alliance of national and religious militias seeking to overthrow the government. US forces stationed in the region are being activated to quickly respond after a call for assistance from the Botswanian government. Newly formed Lightning Task Force is tasked to move into alliance controlled territory and cut off one of the main path towards Gaborone, limiting the support to their frontline troops and disrupting their hasty advance to Botswana's capital. The first phase of the plan is to take over a disused airfield near the Dariyah mountain ridge that forms a natural chokepoint. Once the airfield is taken, additional equipment and assets will be airlifted to establish a forward operating base allowing more extensive operations to take place.

Airfield Aeden is controlled by friendly forces, providing security and acting as the main supply base for the operation.
We have been granted exclusive use of the runway for the duration of the operation.

The area of operation is mainly used as a transit area without any substantial bases. Aerial and satellite imagery suggest the presence of designated stop or refueling posts along the corridor. Vehicle also seem to only be on the move during daytime.

LIGHTNING 1 Squad is to take over control of the airfield, OBJ DELTA. Once taken JOLLY Flight is to start transport of equipment as assigned by LIGHTNING H Section. Equipment and vehicles are to be stationed at OBJ DELTA to establish Forward Operating Base GUARDIAN.
