WARNING ORDER - IMPENDING ENEMY ATTACK
Soviet forces have regrouped north of Rostok and are believed to launch an attack with the aim of capturing Smitty Airbase.
Days have gone past with no movement in the North, but just a few hours ago, forward recon teams spotted soviet motorized infantry advancing, under the cover of the night, west towards the town of Kirvansk.
A US Army motorized infantry platoon is tasked with relieving a defence line garrison in anticipation of a Soviet attack on Nikovskaya.
NOTE: Due to reports of clandestine operations with the use of civilian vehicles, and curious overflights of soviet transport aircraft, the checkpoint and SHORAD networks have increased.

Execution
Commander's Intent
The purpose of this mission is a continued defence against a favoured Soviet attack vector to solidify the front over the following days and deny a salient breach. We are the first line of defence while development in depth behind us continues, so we must not give and make the enemy fight for every inch.
Tasks and Sequencing
ALL CALLSIGNS prepare sustainment sufficient for the mission using provided transport trucks.
Sierra platoon mounts these trucks with each squad driving their own.
SIERRA 9 splits HQ between a Humvee and a Humvee ambulance.
Departure takes a left turn from the airbase via Nizhnegorsk, then through a friendly checkpoint to head north.
Our right flank at the trench requires special attention to prevent the enemy from taking the woodlands to our rear and encircling us.
The left flank is open terrain which the enemy will no doubt use for an armoured advance staged from Nikovskaya.
SIERRA 3 is positioned on the west flank.
SIERRA 2 takes the centre, such that it can support either side as required.
SIERRA 1 monitors the east flank.
The platoon shall hold until nightfall when a relieve platoon arrives.

Special purpose equipment is taken over from the relieved WHISKY platoon at the trenches.
