The role

The Combat Life Saver (CLS) is not a medic but rather a medical role utilised at the fireteam level, they are, first and foremost - a Rifleman. The role of a CLS is to provide first-aid to fireteam members and to deal with minor casualties. In the event of Major or Immediate casualties, the CLS will stabilise a patient while requesting a senior medic to attend.
